Silica Gel Tyvec
Silica Gel Tyvec sachets are mainly used in combination with food, or e.g. food supplements. These Silica Gel Tyvec sachets are food safe, dust proof and tear proof. Manufacturers of food supplements almost always add silica gel sachets to hygroscopic products such as sports food. Silica Gel sachets from Tyvec are filled with white silica gel granules that have an absorption capacity of 30% of their own weight. There are end-users who think that silica gel Tyvec sachets are reusable. However, it is not cost effective to regenerate these silica gel beads. Silica gel white granules are non-toxic and can be disposed of after use. Moisture absorber bags also contain white silica gel granules. However, these moisture absorbers are not food safe compared to silica gel Tyvec bags. So never use the moisture-eaters in combination with food.

Tyvec is a patented product of Dupont and all silica gel Tyvec bags that DDC has in its range are made with Dupont’s Tyvec. Besides silica gel white, there is also silica gel orange. These orange silica gel granules are never used in silica gel Tyvec sachets. The reason is that silica gel Tyvec sachets are made for single use. When the bottles or packets containing silica gel are empty, the packet and the silica gel sachet are disposed of as bulky waste. The particle size is 3 to 5mm for the standard Silica Gel Tyvec bag. However, there are producers of food supplements who use Silica Gel Tyvec on a roll and for this target group we supply Silica Gel Tyvec bags on a roll that are filled with 1 to 3mm of silica gel particle.
